![]() ![]() I didn't think of putting the HDMI switch (yes it is a switch, thanks for clarifying I never knew that difference) through that (I was going to put the Sky through that then connect the HDMI out from that to the switch and the optical out to the optical in).įor those asking about what it is I'm trying to do/need this stuff for:īasically I've just moved into a new place and there is a lot of Home Cinema infrastructure in place I'm not an expert or anything but I had managed to get everthing (Sky/DVD/PS4) working via unplugging/replugging stuff in and wanted to simplify things to avoid the need to do this everytime I switch devices. ![]() That last link is what I have already ordered because the Sky box doesn't have optical out. This will extract the audio signal and pass it out as optical digital and pass on the HDMI to the TV. I'm also tempted to ask why you need this switch? What are you trying to connect to what? Does the TV you have the HDMI connected to have some sort of digital out that passes through the audio from the HDMI input? That would make things easier.īetween your HDMI switch (it is a switch and not a splitter isn't it? ) and the TV. You can get variation son the theme of this type of thingīut from what I have seen the quality is somewhat hit and miss and a bit pot luck if you get one that actually works! If you want to connect multiple sources to one destination then you need a switch. ![]() A Splitter is only to be used to connect one source to multiple destinations. You should not be using a SPLITTER to connect two sources to one destination, clue is in the name. ![]()
